Welcome to Baja California! Today we will transport from Tijuana to Ensenada
along the most beautiful highway in Mexico with the Pacific Ocean accompanying us all the way. We will make a mandatory stop in Puerto Nuevo to taste the iconic dish of this very special place: Lobster accompanied by refried beans, rice and the largest flour tortillas you have ever seen.
Then we will arrive at the hotel to check in so that the afternoon is free to get to know Ensenada.

Day 2 - August 19
Cove

Today we will have breakfast and then leave for the famous Valle de Guadalupe to begin to learn about the different forms of production of the first 3 wineries of our trip, starting with Vinos Cruz, a charming winery of premium production wines small, where if we are lucky, we will talk with the owner Cruz Macías.
Our second winery is a winery that works only with decantations, hence its name, Decantos Vinícola where in the tasting we can also, if you so decide, snack with some fresh oysters in their shells or weathered (the local specialty).
We finish the wineries of the day with some boutique wines where its owner, Captain Obregón, will receive us in his beautiful cellar to tell us the story behind its labels and why the name of the winery: Norte 32
Now if you are very hungry and we are ready to eat at the most chic country grill in Mexico, Deckman's in Mogor is a beautiful restaurant where you will eat among the vineyards and if we arrive on time you can enjoy one of the most beautiful sunsets .

Day 3 - August 20
Today we will take you to breakfast at the most awarded seafood cart in Mexico
La Guerrerense, where Sabina, the owner of this famous corner of Ensenada, will welcome you with her emblematic smile. You can take a photo with her, as well as Anthony Bourdain, Dita Von Teese, Alejandro Fernandez or one of her chef friends like Benito Molina or Aquiles Chavez.
With a full stomach and heart, we set out on the road to the Valley to reach one of the most important wineries in the country, Monte Xanic. We all know the wines from this Mexican winery with more than 30 years producing quality wines. You will be impressed with the size of its fermentation tanks, its beautiful and gigantic cellar and its beautiful landscapes.
We will visit an award-winning winery not for its wines but for being cataloged as one of the most beautiful wineries in the world. Bruma is a dream come true where the architect Alejandro D'Acosta used only recycled materials that embellish and honor a majestic tree that under its shade maintains the barrels of the place in perfect harmony. One of the most instagrammable wineries you will find.
We finish our tour today with the wines of Viñas de Frannes, where its great and award-winning wines will accompany you to see the vines up close and take the photos you want in this spectacular canyon. With music and delicious food you will have a wonderful time to get hungry and head to Restaurante Elena, a hidden gem in Valle de Guadalupe, where when you arrive and enter you will never imagine that you are in the middle of the vines. The terrace of the place overlooks the Polo field where you can see one of the matches of this beautiful and elegant sport. After dessert you can go out to the Oyter Bar Bakuss to dance with the local DJ under the stars of the most important wine region in the country.

Welcome to Madrid! The capital of Spain awaits us with open doors. Today in the afternoon we will meet with the tour guide to meet him and learn more about the trip. After the small meeting we will have a welcome dinner in a restaurant in the capital to start the trip with a good taste in our mouths.

Day 2 - 27 September
Segovia
Meal plan: Breakfast and Lunch
We leave Madrid in the morning heading north to visit the beautiful city of Segovia. It is said that Walt Disney was inspired by this castle for his drawings. Whether true or not, the truth is that the Alcázar of Segovia is, together with the Roman Aqueduct, the icons of this small Castilian city. We will take a walk through the steep streets of Segovia to the Alcázar, which you can visit. If instead of the walk you prefer a guided tour, you will have to hire an official guide (approx. €190 for 2-3 hours). The walk will begin at the foot of the Roman aqueduct, over 2,000 years old, that used to cross the valley to bring water to the Roman fortress. We will pass by the cathedral and we will be able to discover some incredible buildings of the city. After the walk, we'll meet up with the guide again to go to the hotel, where after check-in (or before, depending on the weather), we'll discover the flavors of Segovia. Suckling pig, beans, soups and typical products on the dinner menu that is included.
The rest of the afternoon is free to rest or continue discovering Segovia at your own pace. You can follow the path of the Aqueduct that starts right next to the hotel or enjoy some local wines (part of the DO Rueda and DO Ribera del Duero are within the province of Segovia).

Day 3 - 28 September
Ribera del Duero

We say goodbye to Segovia to enter the DO Rueda, where the work with one of the oldest grapes in Spain, the Verdejo grape, has achieved fine, fruity and very high quality white wines. We will make a stop on the way to Ribera del Duero to visit Bodegas Ramón Bilbao, where we can see the vineyard and learn more about the process of making this famous wine. A curiosity is that the wines from Rueda, in the Middle Ages called Vino de las Tierras de Medina, were the most consumed wines in the Court of the Catholic Monarchs.
After the visit, we will continue the route to Ribera del Duero, where we can enjoy a meal at the Bodegas Arzuaga Traditional Restaurant. A tasting menu paired with wine from the winery itself (Arzuaga Crianza).
We will continue the route to our hotel, located in an old Medieval Castle. After check-in we can enjoy a dinner at the hotel (it is necessary to book in advance – They have group menus from €27)

After breakfast, we will make an excursion through Ribera del Duero. The winery that we will visit first is a historic winery, a pioneer of the DO Ribera del Duero, with caves from more than 400 years ago and that produces magnificent wines.
After the visit to the caves and the tasting, we can enjoy a traditional meal in a winery with cache, Bodegas Áster of the Rioja Alta Group. Chateau style winery, surrounded by vineyards and Tuscan style, where we can taste their excellent wines.
After lunch we can visit Peñafiel and go up to the castle to enjoy the fantastic views. After having free time, we will return to the hotel to have some time to rest.

Rioja

We leave Ribera del Duero to enter Rioja, a more complex wine region, where in addition to the classic reds (Crianza, Reserva and Gran Reserva) whites, rosés and even cava are made.
On the way, we will make a stop in the majestic Burgos. We can contemplate its impressive Gothic Cathedral during free time or follow in the footsteps of Cid Campeador, born in the Castilian city.
In the afternoon we will return to Rioja, where we can visit one of the most important wineries in the region, Marqués de Riscal, one of the oldest wineries in Rioja where, in addition to visiting the majestic complex designed by Frank Ghery, we will taste 3 of its wines. After the visit, we will seek refuge in the Medieval Villa de Laguardia. We will visit the town, its cobbled streets, we will discover its spectacular viewpoints later, we will continue to Logroño where we will stay. An alternative for dinner today is to follow in the footsteps of the people of La Rioja and visit Calle Laurel and eat some delicious pinchos. The guide will advise us.

Day 6 - October 1, 2022
Rioja

Today we will continue the route through La Rioja, where we can see some of the most beautiful towns in the region such as San Vicente, Briones or Haro. Today, in addition, we will visit the Rioja Alta winery, one of the most renowned wineries in the area.
After the visit and tasting, we will enjoy free time in the Barrio de la Estación where you can taste wines in all the wineries that surround the train station. López de Heredia, Gómez Cruzado, CVNE, Muga or Roda. All of them have a Winebar that does not require a reservation. And you can try the wines that you like the most (previous payment). After free time, it's time to eat. We will go to the center of Haro.
In the afternoon, we will continue visiting some of the most iconic places in Rioja, such as the town of Briones.

The morning, after breakfast, we will occupy it in a cultural activity. We will visit the Yuso monastery in San Millán de la Cogolla. This is one of the referents of the Castilian language, since it was written here in this language for the first time.
After the guided tour of the Monastery (UNESCO World Heritage) we will taste a typical Rioja menu at the Bodegas Vivanco restaurant.
In the afternoon, we will go to Logroño, the capital of La Rioja, where we will have free time to stroll through the beautiful streets of the center and if you like, enjoy some pinchos, accompanied by a good wine.

Day 8 - 3 October 2022
Bordeaux

We say goodbye to La Rioja to travel to one of the most important oenological destinations in the world, Bordeaux, the world capital of wine. The trip lasts about 5 hours and we can stop in a town on the Basque-French coast such as St Jean de Luz or Biarritz. Upon arrival in Bordeaux, we can stretch our legs on an orientation tour of the city center with our accompanying guide. Learn about the wine history of the city, we will pass by the Cathedral, the Place de la Bourse (the Stock Exchange) and we will see the Garonne, a river that has transported so many liters of wine through its waters to reach the sea and sell Bordeaux wines across the Atlantic. We will walk through the medieval streets and discover some interesting places where we can taste local wines. In the evening we will return to the hotel to enjoy the first dinner in Bordeaux at the hotel restaurant.

Day 9 - 4 October 2022
Bordeaux–St Emillion
Meal Plan: Breakfast
After breakfast, we will embark on the first day's excursion out of Bordeaux. Today we will focus on one of the most famous wine regions in Bordeaux, St Emillion. First thing in the morning and the first thing we will do when we arrive in this beautiful medieval town, will be to visit a winery. But not just any winery, one with a Grand Crú Classé from St Emillion, Chateau Guadet. After the tasting, we will have time to visit the town and perhaps try some wines in the dozens of shops that are available to buy and taste. Lunch is free and in the afternoon we will continue the route to see other vineyards in the area. We will pass, back to Bordeaux, through the gates of the Première Crú, Petrus in Pommerol. Visits are not allowed, but at least we will see your location and it may be a good time to talk about the Premiere Grand Crus of Bordeaux.
In Bordeaux we will have the night free.

Bordeaux

Today, after our breakfast at the hotel, we will discover the wine region south of Bordeaux, in the Sauternes area. Known for the incredible sweet wines made from the Semillon variety, Sauternes is located southeast of the city and is the area where the first vines in the region were grown 2000 years ago. We will visit one of the most renowned wineries in the area, Chateau la Tour Blanche, recognized as Première Crú, only surpassed by Chateau d'Yquem (Première Crú Superiour). There we will be able to carry out the visit in Spanish or English (depending on the availability of the person doing it) and we will taste several of their sweet wines. The tradition of Sauternes wine is given by the Botrytis cinerea fungus that dries the grape concentrating all the sugar. The Chateau La Tour Blanche is also one of the most important oenology and viticulture schools in the country.
After the visit, we will return to Bordeaux, where you will have time to explore La Cité du Vin, one of the most impressive wine museums in the world (entrance included) and from as well as learning more about Bordeaux wine, you will be able to know the characteristics of other important wine regions in the world. Free night.

Today we return to Spain to go to the Basque Country, the cradle of gastronomy. On the way to Bilbao, where we will spend one night, we will make a stop at a Basque Sidrería to do what Basques do best, eat. Today we will change the wine for cider, very traditional in this region.
Enjoy a typical Cider House menu with cod, beef steak, cheese and natural apple cider.
Upon arrival in Bilbao, we will tour the city and visit some of the most iconic places such as the Old Town (Zazpikalea) or the Ría with the Guggenheim Museum emerging from it. Oh, of course! And if we are hungry, eat some pintxos.

Today, after breakfast, we return to the starting point, Madrid. On the way we will stop at a Ribera del Duero winery, Bodegas Portia for a snack. We can enjoy two tapas paired with a wine from Rueda and another from Ribera del Duero. The winery was designed by architect Norman Foster. Upon arrival in Madrid, you will have free time until the group reconvenes for a farewell dinner at a restaurant in the city center. We will talk about what the trip has meant, what we have learned and the memories.
